In general, people like the same, but better. And change from “out of the blue” frightens them. In fact, the bigger the change, the bigger the fear. And the emergence of GPT-3 and other AI platforms does exactly that! The fear and wonder are instantaneously palpable.

Let’s take a closer look. There are several reasons why some people may be fearful of artificial intelligence and GPT-3.

  1. Lack of understanding: Some people may not fully understand how AI works, which can lead to fear or mistrust or misinterpretation of the technology.
  2. Ethical concerns: There are legitimate concerns about the ethical implications of AI, such as the potential for AI to be used for harmful purposes or even to discriminate against certain groups of people.
  3. Job displacement: There is also the fear that AI and automation will lead to job displacement, as machines may be able to perform certain tasks more efficiently than humans.
  4. Control and autonomy: There is also the fear that AI will become too autonomous and powerful, and that we will lose control over it.
